Initial Aims and Objectives for 2006-2007 and Promoters and Event Organizers and NAAC
Any new organization has a large number of aims and objectives for the first few years and NAAC is no exception. We are in the formation stage of this organization and have much to do just to get the organization off the ground and ask all to have patience if we are not moving as fast as one expects.  The old addage "Patience is a virtue" is certainly appropriate for NAAC.  However, we have developed several aims and objectives for 2006.

1.   Prepare 501 c (3) not for profit corporation papers and submit for registration, including tax numbers.

2.   Select a new Board of Directors for NAAC  This board will consist of six members representing artists and crafters who are members of the NAAC.  The President and Executive Director, Vice President and four members at large.  In addition the board will consist of two associate members who are members of NAAC.  This arrangement of the board will be set for a period of two years and board membership will be finalized prior to election of officers for 2007

3.   Select an Executive Director for NAAC.  The Executive Director will also hold the position of President of the organization through 2008.

4.   Finalize a business plan for 2006-2008.  In addition establish an operating budget that will allow NAAC to be promoted within the arts and crafts industry utilizng print media, the internet and direct mail.

5.   Determine a target list of promoters for the first series of evaluations and prepare surveys and questionaires.

6.   Acquire a membership of 500 artists and crafters as charter members.

7.   Establish a working affilliation with Craft Report Magazine and Sunshine Artist magazine as they are the prominant media in the art and craft industry.

8.   Work toward national legislation similar to the Indian Arts and Crafts Act of 1990 to protect the rights or artisans
